About the County Engineer
The Carroll County Engineer is an elected official responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the county's road and bridge infrastructure. Our department serves the residents of Carroll County by ensuring safe and efficient transportation networks throughout the county's 14 townships.
We provide engineering services to township trustees, maintain accurate county maps and property information, and oversee drainage and infrastructure projects countywide.
Services & Responsibilities
Construction & Maintenance
Road, bridge, and drainage construction and maintenance throughout Carroll County.
Road
Design, construct, and maintain county roads. Oversee paving projects, road repairs, snow removal, and general road maintenance operations.
Bridge
Inspect, maintain, and repair county bridges. Monitor bridge conditions and ensure structural safety for all county bridges.
Drainage
Plan and maintain drainage systems, ditches, and culverts to manage stormwater and prevent flooding on county roads.
Tax Map Office
Maintain county maps and property information. Provide mapping services to townships and county departments.
Engineering Services
Technical assistance and engineering services to Carroll County's 14 townships for their road and infrastructure projects.
Permits & RUMAs
Permits and Inspections for work within the county road right-of-ways to ensure safety and compliance.
